EXTINCTION REBELLION OPENING CEREMONY BANNER DROP AT ENTRANCE OF GUILDHALL

Nine people were arrested after Extinction Rebellion activists scaled the entrance to Guildhall, Central London on Sunday, as they prepare to kick-off two weeks of protests in the city. Protesters used a ladder and hanging a banner reading ‘co-liberation-freedom together’, as well as setting off red flares and spraying red graffiti around the windows, as crowds cheered on.

Police later arrived to remove the protesters, with The Metropolitan police reporting that three were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, five for conspiracy to cause criminal damage, and another person for arriving equipped to cause criminal damage.
